No, and it is not meant to be. AskMD helps you understand your health and navigate your care. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or replace a licensed medical professional. Decisions about diagnosis and treatment always belong with you and your doctor.

No. AskMD is not a diagnostic tool, and it does not replace your doctor. It helps you understand what may be going on and what to do about it, like learning what your symptoms can sometimes be related to or identifying the type of specialist to see. For diagnosis and treatment, always consult a licensed medical professional.

Yes. AskMD is free to use, whether you come to it on your own or through your employer, health plan, or another program. Identity verification with CLEAR is completely free too; it is not the same as a paid CLEAR membership, and you never need to pay anything to verify.

Search gives everyone the same results. AskMD gives you guidance based on you: your question, your health history, and your coverage. Instead of a list of links and worst-case scenarios, you get calm, clear next steps, like which kind of care fits your situation and which in-network doctors can help.

If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room right away. AskMD is not designed to manage emergencies. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time.

Your relationship with Sharecare does not have to end when your program does. When your Enterprise Program ends, you may be able to keep using your personal profile and your information. To keep accessing health information your organization provided, you will simply complete a voluntary authorization allowing Sharecare to continue using it.

You can delete specific data or your whole account, any time, right from your settings. In AskMD, go to Profile, then Settings: data management options let you delete individual data types, like your chat history, health records, or insurance information, or permanently delete your entire account and everything associated with it.

In the Sharecare app, use the sign-in screen, choose the forgot password option and we will send a reset link to the email on your account. If you do not see it within a few minutes, check your spam folder, and make sure you are checking the email address you signed up with.

You do not have to connect everything on day one. AskMD gives helpful general guidance from your first question; creating an account and connecting your sources is what turns good answers into answers about you.

You are in control of what we send you. In both the Sharecare app and the AskMD app, go to Profile, then Settings, and open notification preferences to choose which emails and notifications you receive. Prefer one-click? The unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email works too.

When accessing Sharecare whether directly or through your employer, health plan, or another program sponsor, we handle your protected health information in accordance with HIPAA, acting as a business associate under the law. We also comply with the HIPAA security rule and use industry-leading security practices, including ISO 27001 and HITRUST.

No. We do not sell your personal information, and we never sell or rent your protected health information. We do not sell anyone’s sensitive data to data miners or data brokers. Your health information exists to power your experience, not to be a product.

Sharecare uses AI to give you personalized guidance: helping you understand your symptoms, know where to go for care, and see what your health plan covers. AskMD supports the care you get from real clinicians. It never diagnoses, it never replaces your doctor, and your personal health data is never used to train AI models.
