Is Sharecare part of the CMS Health Tech Ecosystem?
Yes. Sharecare is among the early adopters of the CMS Health Tech Ecosystem Initiative, the voluntary effort announced by the White House and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in July 2025 and built on the CMS Interoperability Framework to advance secure, standards-based exchange among technology companies, providers, and health networks.
Sharecare’s work with AskMD directly supports CMS’s goal of a more connected, patient-centered health ecosystem: conversational AI that helps people understand their options, kill-the-clipboard strategies that replace repetitive paperwork with portable, FHIR-structured health summaries, and tech-enabled community engagement that reaches people where they are.
The commitment is already operational. Georgia’s GREAT Health Program deployment applies these capabilities in rural communities, with real-time eligibility verification, in-network provider connections, and secure, standards-based data exchange built in from the start, backed by enterprise-grade privacy and security protections and Sharecare’s HITRUST-certified security framework.
Sharecare’s pledge supports a voluntary, standards-based ecosystem of private-sector technology partners integrating with the CMS Aligned Network, with active engagement in two of the initiative’s key categories: Conversational AI and Kill the Clipboard. The ecosystem is working in practice: Sharecare paired its healthcare engagement and navigation experience with fellow members including Amazon Web Services, CLEAR, Flexpa, and HealthEx to power AskMD features that make privacy a priority and hyper-personalization possible.
