Terms|Health Info Policy

The Sharecare Privacy Policy describes how Sharecare treats personal information when you use Sharecare's Services. This Health Info Policy describes Sharecare’s terms for certain Sharecare services that allow you to provide, store and access your personal health information. In the event of any conflict between this Sharecare Health Info Policy and the Sharecare Privacy Policy related to personal health information, the Sharecare Health Info Policy shall apply.

Providing, storing and accessing your personal health information

  • Certain Sharecare services allow you to provide, store and access personal health information. Such services include various privacy preferences and options, including the ability to delete information.
  • Sharecare will not sell, rent, or share your personal health information that is personally identifiable without your explicit consent, except to comply with laws and for sale to third parties as part of a corporate reorganization process including, but not limited to, mergers, acquisitions, and sales of all or substantially all of our assets.

How Sharecare uses your personal health information

  • Sharecare uses your personal health information to provide certain services to you.
  • Sharecare periodically may use for itself, and provide to third parties, statistics and associations from your personal health information and/or third party data, as part of an aggregated data set. These aggregated data sets do not contain any personally identifiable information.
  • Certain features of the Sharecare services can be used alone or in conjunction with other services, and such features may share personal health information to provide a better user experience and to improve the quality of our services. For example, Sharecare services can help you find relevant information, including from advertisers and third parties. Personal health information shared for such purposes is not provided to third parties in a personally identifiable manner.

Sharing your personal health information with people and services you trust

  • You can choose to share personal health information with others as part of certain Sharecare services, including with third party service providers approved by you. If a service provider accesses your personal health information, such information will be governed by that service provider's privacy policy and applicable law. Sharecare is not responsible for the content, performance, or privacy policies of such third-parties.
  • Certain services provided by Sharecare and/or third-parties may be covered by federal and state health privacy laws (such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or “HIPAA”), and those laws will govern how Sharecare and such service providers may use and share your information. Such laws require that you authorize Sharecare and/or these providers to provide services to you. By using services from Sharecare and such service providers, you give Sharecare and the service providers, as applicable, permission to provide services requested by you. With that authorization, you also give permission for certain especially sensitive types of health information (such as mental health or substance abuse records) that are protected by federal and state laws and that require special authorization, to be used in the provision of services.
